This Privacy policy sets out how Chiaka Barry MLA (“we”, “our”, “us”) manages your personal information. Members of the ACT Legislative Assembly are not subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) or the ACT's Information Privacy Act 2014. While under no legal obligation, I will, where possible, voluntarily comply with accepted privacy standards and the Canberra Liberals policies on the use of electorate information.

• Emails and contact form submissions are stored securely using Gmail (Google Workspace).

• Your personal information, copies of emails and contact form submissions may also be held on the ACT Legislative Assembly and/or the Canberra Liberals IT systems.

• Website data and analytics are managed by Squarespace using secure servers.

• We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

We may disclose your personal information to:

·       If you have asked us to advocate on your behalf, your personal information may be referred to the relevant Minister and/or the relevant government entity responsible for the substance of your representation. You may be asked to sign a further specific consent form to enable those entities to provide your personal information to Ms Barry.

• Our service providers, including Squarespace (website hosting) and Google (email services).

• Government agencies, regulators, or law enforcement if required by law.

Your personal information may be stored on servers located outside Australia (for example, in the United States). Where this occurs, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that your information is protected in accordance with the APPs.

Our website uses cookies and analytics tools provided by Squarespace to improve functionality and understand how visitors use the site.
